Overview
Connect your IEEE-488 (HPIB/GPIB) instrument to anything with a browser (even a smartphone!), a Telnet client, or USB/serial capability—covering all the methods that other adapters usually only support individually. No special hardware or drivers required; use any OS.
Compatible With
- IEEE-488 / GPIB / HPIB
- IEEE-488.1, IEEE-488.2, and SCPI
- Ethernet (RJ-45) with 1500 Vrms isolation per IEEE-802.3
- USB/serial port
Key Features
- Emulates HP7470 plotter and BMP printer; render directly to HTML or BMP
- Data logger to record and graph measurements (e.g., from a multimeter); view in the browser or download as CSV
- ProLogix command subset compatibility
- Plugs directly into the IEEE-488 port of your instrument
- Firmware upgradeable over Ethernet (firmware updates are compatible with Rev 1 hardware)
Networking
- HTTP — use any standard web browser (Firefox, Chrome, Edge, etc.)
- Telnet — text-based Ethernet control supported by most operating systems
- DHCP — automatically acquires a compatible IP address from your router
- SNTP / NTP — sets the real-time clock from the internet / network time protocol
- ICMP (Ping) — obtain information about the network interface
- TFTP — standard protocol to send new firmware to the device
- NetBIOS — legacy but still useful addressing protocol
- USB — appears as a standard serial port when plugged into a PC
